1976 Corvette Coupe L82 - Matching #'s L82 V8 Engine 4 - Speed Transmission Based on the Mako Shark II show car designed by the renowned Larry Shinoda, the third-generation Corvette was produced from the 1968 through 1982 model years. From 1969 through 1976, the Corvette carried the Stingray name, as opposed to the previously utilized two-word Sting Ray designation. The Stingray name has proven to be a nostalgic one, as it was revived for both the Corvette C7 that was produced from 2014-2019 and the midengine C8 that went into production in 2020. The 1976 model was built with steel floor panels to shield catalytic converter exhaust gases. Side benefits of these panels were that they weighed less than the existing fiberglass floor and also reduced interior noise levels. Today, the Corvette possesses its Classic White paint and custom leather interior, and it is powered by a matching-numbers L82 350 CI V-8 engine mated to a Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. That power flows through a 3.55:1 Positraction rear end, while handling and braking is on the spot with power steering and brakes, aluminum wheels and BFG radial tires. The interior features factory air conditioning, tilt/telescopic steering column, AM/FM stereo, tinted glass, power windows and a rear window defogger.
